Where has time gone?

Bryce Hudson :: Art PrntsHi there, and apologies for not posting sooner. I've been - as one can imagine - busy. With an exhibit of works going to California and a show next August I've been not only busy being Bryce, but busy making new work, and more importantly, figuring out how to pay to produce the new set. The next body of work is not only much larger, but much more complex. This means that once I've paid to have it printed I have to pay to have them all framed for exhibit.

Being an artist is not by any means an easy task.

As I've been doing freelance design work and working hard so that I can afford to do all of this, I've been thinking a lot about my peers. Other artists in a mid-sized city whose only hope is to continue trying to find venues to show work outside of the city as they further their careers. It's not an easy job and I've seen alot of us drift off just to make a living and a life for themselves. Jobs, family, life in general takes over and the next thing I know they're making little to no new work. Why? Because it's expensive, there is very little community support and perhaps a lack of drive? I don't know all of the answers, but I do know that I am incapible of living life without creating. That image is of my new large work from the Holding Pattern series. It's of Megan.
